Sun Lakes July 23-26

Cal and I actually had some vacation time together, and we had a blast. Last month we went to Sun Lakes with the Horch family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Calvin's family has been doing this trip for years, and now I completely understand why. There was plenty of water, sun, and relaxation. Unfortunately we didn't get very many pictures. We were too busy doing stuff. Here is a picture of us cliff jumping. Cal and I are at the top. It took me a while to convince myself to do this one, but I did it!

Amber's Northeastern Tour
This last April I had the opportunity to go on a tour with the interior design department from BYU-I. We started in Boston and from there went to Salem, then to Newport Rhode Island, and then down to New York City. It was a interesting trip with a lot of ups and downs. Looking back I really did have a great time. I learned a lot and got to see and experience some amazing things. I missed Calvin like crazy though. I really appreciate him for letting me go. He is a great guy, isn't he? Anyway, here are some pictures from my adventures. They are not the greatest pictures but they will have to do!

Me and my best buddy Kristin Radmall at Trinity Church in Boston. It is definitely a work of art designed by Henry Hobson Richardson.

We went on a Duck Tour that took us all around Boston. It was the best!

Good old Paul Revere's home.

Boston was my favorite city from the tour. The buildings were so cute. We took a walking tour up Beacon Hill. These are some homes from that tour.
This is an awesome building on the MIT campus designed by Frank Gehry.

The House of Seven Gables.

These are the Newport Mansions in Rhode Island. They were amazing!!

New York City!!!!
There are a lot of people in New York. That pretty much explains it all.

The Statue of Liberty!

Kristin and I on top of The Empire State Building. We waited in line for almost 3 hours to get to the top and then only stayed up there for about 15 minutes. I still wonder if it was really worth it.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art. You could literally spend days in this place. We unfortunately were only there for a few hours.

The Guggenheim Museum in New York was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is definitely one of my favorite buildings of all time. It is beautiful design. My crummy pictures do not give it justice.

Honeymoon In Victoria

Victoria is a beautiful city and we had a really fun time. Calvin planned a really good trip and spoiled me more than he should have.
Behind us is the Empress Hotel. It is an amazing building. This was not our hotel. It was a little pricey if you can imagine.

This guy was funny. He was one of those crazies that stands on the street and yells stuff. Calvin wanted a picture with him.
Here is a great picture of Calvin! One of my favorites. We did stay in a very nice hotel, if you can look past Cal you can see the amazing view we had from our room.

One of the days we were in Victoria we went to the Butchart Gardens. They were amazing!
Here is Calvin looking at some hanging plants although he really didn't have a choice. haha, oh Calvin.

Hydrangeas are probably my favorite flower and there were plenty to see at the gardens.

Really cool fountains!

It lightly rained most the day at the gardens, but luckily the garden provided umbrellas.
